Tip 1: Start with short video ads.
Video ad length: up to 45 seconds
Plenty of placements take longer ads, but for simplicity start with short video ads.
Tip 2: You do not need every image format.
With this list you need 5 image formats total and 4 for video.
Yes, more formats exist, but Google dynamic ad formats let you skip a ton of them.
Tip 3: You do not need every video format. Start vertical!
Cut production effort on video ads
If you want to cut production effort, shoot with a focus on vertical video ads (1080x1920 pixels).
Take it one step further: shoot focused on vertical video ads (1080 x 1920 pixels), but keep the center of the frame tight (1080 x 1080 pixels).
If you reverse-engineer production, you cover every format: square to story to landscape. With 4K video you can plan and shoot it all in one take. Multiformat production always adds work: for first tests I recommend pure vertical videos in the name of speed.
